• Comment: more stubs of old signs revealed by renovation work, this time for a business still going strong (founded 1792) but which is no longer in these premises and has long since removed all that punctuation (and the "& son").

• Comment: half-hidden by the 1960s post-war additions to the streets. spotted 1996, photographed september 2004.

• Comment: once two storeys of toys now a cheap interiors shop next to a Poundland. The lettering was taken down when the shop closed but the iron stork remains.
